A young boy grows up in a melting pot house bursting with all walks of Lambeth life. He plays among the terraces, railway arches, bombsites and river mud of Vauxhall and becomes a keen observer and discover of life. Working out how his Irish-Yoruba family functions and fits into the diverse pulsing community might be less of a struggle than working out where he can fit in as the youngest of four children in a crowded household of eighteen. Making sense of teachers, police, methylated tramps, Nigerian royalty, gypsies, Blitz veteran cockneys, pearly kings and queens won’t be easy either. As he gets to grips with the early 70s will his world survive the slum clearances bulldozing through South London?
