We are proud to announce the third edition of the Tibor Jones Pageturner Prize 2015.

The biennial Tibor Jones Pageturner Prize aims to unearth new and exciting writing, offering debut novelists an opportunity to showcase their talent.  Tibor Jones & Associates, now more than ever, values the importance of emerging original fiction.

Alongside Kevin Conroy Scott, co-founder of the Prize and M.D of Tibor Jones & Associates and Sophie Hignett, Associate Agent at the agency, the panel of judges will consist of Independent Booksellers Simon Heafield, Marketing Manager at Foyles, Chloe Mavrommatis of Dulwich Books and Jonathan Main, the Bookseller Crow.

“The romance of discovery is what publishing is all about; this prize was designed to give aspiring writers an opportunity to breakthrough into the marketplace and allow their voices to be heard.”

–          Kevin Conroy Scott, co-founder of the Tibor Jones Pageturner Prize.

Tibor Jones & Associates is dedicated to building the careers of exceptional writers, working closely with them to develop and present their manuscripts to the right publishers in both the UK home market and internationally. This knowledge, together with the collective experience of Chloe, Simon and Jonathan, who are always on the lookout for standout new voices, ensures that the writing chosen is distinctive, absorbing and above all, page turning.

The inaugural prize was launched in 2011 unearthing the unique talents of Nathan Filer, author of The Shock of the Fall (2013 Costa Book of the Year and the 2014 Betty Trask Prize) and Gabriel Gbadamosi , author of Vauxhall (Best International Novel at the 2013 Sharjah Book Fair.)

2013 Pageturner Prize winner Anna Freeman’s novel The Fair Fight has been published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson to recent acclaim.

It’s hard to explain how important winning The Tibor Jones Pageturner Prize was without descending into cliche and making myself sound like an X Factor contestant. Winning meant that, as an unknown debut novelist, I bypassed the slushpiles and found myself a brilliant, insightful agent whose advice massively improved the manuscript. Then the publicity generated by the prize sparked an auction between publishers. I don’t know what would have happened to The Fair Fight without the prize, but it couldn’t have been better than this, could it? It’s free to enter – I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t give it a shot.”

–           Anna Freeman 2013 Pageturner Prize winner.

Entry for the 2015 Tibor Jones Pageturner Prize is open to any unrepresented writer with a completed or nearly completed draft of an unpublished novel and can be submitted from Monday November 3rd 2014 until January 26th 2015.

The winner of the prize will be announced Wednesday 4th March 2015 and will receive £1,000 and literary representation by Tibor Jones & Associates, London’s leading literary agency for the post-digital generation.
