Tibor Jones & Associates Hires Laura Macdougall from Hodder

Laura Macdougall has joined Tibor Jones & Associates after five years at Hodder & Stoughton. Macdougall will be creating her own list of authors while working closely with Kevin Conroy Scott on the management of the Wilbur Smith co-author projects. At Hodder Macdougall acquired and edited a range of authors including Martine Bailey, John Henry Clay, Julie Corbin, Mons Kallentoft and Julie Sarkissian and set up and managed the historical fiction community.

Co-Founders of Tibor Jones and Associates, Kevin Conroy Scott and Landa Acevedo-Scott said, ‘Laura is an exciting hire for us because she already has a fantastic list of authors lined up for representation and she also gives us valuable historical fiction expertise when it comes to putting quality first as we continue to build the Wilbur Smith brand with integrity and passion.’

Laura Macdougall said, ‘I’m thrilled to be joining Kevin and Landa and the rest of the team at what is such an exciting time for the agency. To work with an author of Wilbur Smith’s calibre is inspiring, and I’m also looking forward to signing some brilliant new writers and welcoming them to Tibor Jones.’

Macdougall’s first signing will be the winner of the 2015 Tibor Jones Pageturner Prize, which will be announced on Monday, March 9th. Previous winners and shortlisted authors include the lauded historical novelist Anna Freeman (THE FAIR FIGHT, Weidenfeld & Nicolson), the 2014 Costa Prize winner Nathan Filer (THE SHOCK OF THE FALL, HarperCollins) and Gabriel Gbadamosi (VAUXHALL, Telegram Books).
